unscribble was built out of a deep reverence for family culinary history. Countless home kitchens hold wooden recipe boxes filled with yellowed index cards, stained magazine clippings, and grandmothers' cursive script that are slowly tearing, fading, and getting lost to time. Our platform digitizes, organizes, scales, and immortalizes these recipes for future generations.
Cooking is one of the most intimate ways families express culture and love. When a handwritten recipe card is lost or unreadable, a piece of family history disappears with it. unscribble was engineered to make preserving those memories effortless, private, and durable.
Preserving physical recipe cards into permanent digital archives that can never be ruined by kitchen spills or fading ink.
Standardizing measurements, cooking steps, and preparation methods without altering original heirloom flavor profiles.
Your recipes belong entirely to you. We do not sell your data or train external commercial models on your private family photos.
unscribble combines specialized optical character recognition (OCR) with advanced multimodal AI (Google Gemini 3.8 and Gemini Flash). Our digitization pipeline is calibrated specifically for culinary terminology, deciphering cursive handwriting, vintage cooking shorthand (such as "butter size of an egg" or "pinch of saleratus"), and organizing instructions into logical stations.
unscribble is developed and operated by Michael Kozlowski and the unscribble team. We are committed to maintaining a clean, high-utility, ad-supported kitchen companion built with modern web standards (Progressive Web App technology with full offline capabilities, Google Drive private backup, and interactive cooking timers).
